By attending a drop-in session at the Student Advice Centre, you will get to spend approximately 15 minutes with a professional adviser. You do not need to make an appointment to attend a session, just come along to the Student Advice Centre between the advertised times, and the advisers will explore your enquiry and offer any relevant advice.
If your enquiry is complicated then the adviser will usually offer you an appointment or make an appropriate referral.
The Student Advice Centre offers a completely confidential service - nothing you tell us will be shared with any other organisation or individual outside of the Centre without your express permission. There are very few circumstances where we break confidentiality and it would always be as a last resort – for example if we believed you were in very serious danger of harming yourself or others.
There is a strict procedure we follow if we need to breach confidentiality, detailed in our confidentiality policy. You can obtain a copy of our confidentiality policy from the Centre, the Students’ Union Reception or by clicking here.
We also adhere to the Union’s equal opportunities policy and have a set of service standards and a complaints procedure, all of which are available by clicking here.
