Common problems we deal with from postgraduates are mainly around insufficient funding for their courses, and occasionally difficulties with their student status for benefits/ council tax purposes if they are in a writing up/ continuation status period.
It can be really difficult and competitive to secure funding and we can only advise to make applications early, have contingency plans and investigate all your options e.g through using our Funderfinder database, available in the information area.It is best NOT to start a course without sufficient funds to pay your fees and support yourself financially.
Also our elected Education Officer is available to help you with any issues you have with your course, for example, if you are having difficulties with your supervisor.
The Education Officer can be contacted on 01273 873324 or by email on education@ussu.sussex.ac.uk
Please be aware that we are only able to advise current or prospective students
