► About us

Advice Centre Administrator

Our administrator, Priti Narshi, will probably be the first person you come into contact with at the Student Advice Centre.  Although the administrator is not an adviser, she can help you with any questions you may have about the Advice Centre and let you know how and when you can see an Adviser.

If you have come to the Advice Centre outside of a drop-in session, Priti will be also be able to direct you to alternative sources of information.

Generalist and Money Advisers

Our drop-in sessions are run by professional Generalist and Money advisers.  The Advisers provide students with impartial and non-judgemental advice.  All interviews are confidential.

Your time at University should be enjoyable and rewarding and not spoiled by unnecessary worries. As soon as you are aware of a problem seek help, and remember, it is never too late to ask for advice!

Information Area

As well as a private interview room where you can talk to an adviser in confidence, we also have an Information Area:

  • Stocked with lots of information and reference material on a wide range of subjects.
  • A free phone for welfare-related enquiries (eg. to the Student Loans Company).
  • A computer with shortcuts to useful websites and the Funderfinder People in Need database (a database of educational trusts and charities which may be able to provide additional sources of financial help).
  • Open weekdays 9am - 5pm.

Whether you are looking for something specific, want some contact numbers or just feel like browsing, you are always welcome to use the Information Area as a place to find out more.
