► Sports Awards Ball
The Sports Awards Ball is the biggest event on the sport calendar here at Sussex and has completely sold out over the past couple of years. USSU Sport organises the Sports Awards Ball annually to recognise the achievements of Clubs, Teams and Individuals within those clubs. Of course the ball is also a chance for everyone to get together and celebrate all that is USSU Sport!
Come and celebrate all the effort, commitment and successes you guys have had over the last year at our annual sports awards. It's been another phenomenal year for sport at Sussex this year and the annual Sports Ball will be the perfect way to celebrate our achievements (and a great excuse for a night out!).

Award Categories
Awards recognise both sporting excellence and contribution to USSU Sport. Click here to find about previous winners
USSU Sport Award - These are awarded to club members who have ‘gone beyond the call of duty’ for their club and acted as an ambassador of the University and Students’ Union.
Coach of the Year Award - Awarded to the Club Coach who has made an exceptional contribution to the delivery and development of sport at Sussex
Team of the Year - Awarded to the most successful and most improved Sports team according to results in BUCS, local league and NGB competitions
Most Improved Club - Awarded to the club that has shown the greatest improvement and development over the year. This can include organisation of the club, role of the committee, results and improvements in participation levels
Club of the Year - Awarded to the most outstanding Club according to participation, organisation, profile, and value for money
Half Blues - Awarded to students who have played for the University at every opportunity, been selected to represent the University at County or Regional levels and acted as an ambassador of the University and Students’ Union during their study at Sussex. Nominations are also considered from those who have achieved second or third place honours in a national championship at an individual level (NB this includes all BUCS honours).
Full Blues - Awarded to students who have played for the university at every opportunity, been selected to represent the University at National or International level and acted as an ambassador of the University and Students’ Union during their study at Sussex. Nominations are also considered from those who have achieved first place honours in a national championship at an individual level (NB this includes all BUCS honours).
Sportsman & Sportswoman of the Year - Awarded to the most outstanding student members based on their experience, contribution to and performance in student sport, achieved this year (candidates are taken from Blues and USSU Sport Award winners).
Quad-Nations &Tri-Nations Cups - The newly revived annual tournament between hockey, rugby, football and netball (for the women) in which all clubs play each other at each sport
