► Officer positions
The positions listed below are Part-Time postions, filled by students alongside their studies, for information on Full-Time Elected Officer positions click here.
Part-TimeOfficers work for the Union while continuing with their studies, and unlike Full-Time Officers, they're not paid. So students don't expect you to put in vast hours for USSU like the full-time officers. But as an elected officer, you will be committing to carry out the duties of the post you have applied for.
This means attending the relevant meetings, probably a committee every two weeks and Council 2 or 3 times each term. And finding time to be available to students who may want to ask a question or make a suggestion.
The following Part-Time Officers are elected by ballot of all students in May each year:
Community Engagement Officer
Entertainments Officer
Ethical & Environmental Officer
International Students' Development Officer
Postgraduate Development Officer
In the Autumn Term, Union Councillors are elected to represent students within each School of study.
