► Queer?
The Q on the end of LGBTQ stands for 'queer' - a word formerly used as a derogatory term against the gay community which has now been reclaimed. It's used as an 'umbrella term', to mean anyone who's not straight, regardless of how 'not straight' they are. Some people believe sexuality is fluid, that it can change and that you aren't simply completely straight, completely gay or completely bisexual all of the time. We've decided to add the Q onto the end of LGBT to include those who don't feel like they identify with the abbreviation LGBT on its own.
