Would you hitch-hike to Morocco for charity?

We are a charitable society at the USSU who raise money for Link Community Development. To raise money we organise a sponsored hitch-hike to Morocco or Prague. That's either 800 or 1600 miles to travel by thumbing rides at the side of the road. Intrigued...?
This event has been running for over 15 years. Last year was the biggest and best. 700 students hitched to Morocco and raised over £300,000 in sponsorship. At Sussex we had over 65 hitchers and managed to raise around £21,500.
Throughout the year the society will run fundraisers, socials and help you prepare for the hitch in any way possible. The event has detailed safety procedures which means none of the 3000 ex-hitchers have ever suffered any major injury.
The only thing you have to do is guarantee to raise £300 before June 1st which leaves you 9 months. This money really makes a difference to the charity and can be easily raised with just one fundraiser.
Then over the Easter holiday you'll set off on the adventure of a lifetime (and one which won't break the bank balance!)
