The Secular Society is a safe and stimulating place to discuss humanist and secular issues - such as the separation between state and religious institutions - and to campaign for equal rights and freedom of speech for non-believers.
Our meetings are held every Thursday (starting in week 3 of the autumn term) at 6pm in the quiet room of meeting house. Anyone is welcome to come along and find out what we are about. For more information, please contact us at secular@ussu.sussex.ac.uk
We will be holding many events throughout the year, such as debates and socials. At present we are planning a debate entitled ‘does god exist’ between ourselves, the Christian union and the Islamic society, it promises to be an interesting evening!
Our brand new website has just been launched at: www.sussexsecular.co.uk and include links to useful websites and a weekly (ish) blog.
